This page says what we collect, what we do with it, and what we never do. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we never do
Your footage is never used to train models. Not ours, not anyone else’s. Your marks, your title and thumbnail picks and your published videos are used to build and improve your channel’s profile, and are not pooled across customers.
What we collect
- Your account. Name, email address, time zone, and the plan you are on.
- Your channel. The channel link you give us and what we can read from your published videos. If you connect YouTube, read-only access to your channel metadata, video list and analytics. We never write, upload or delete anything on your channel.
- Your uploads. The recording and the song file you send for each video, and everything produced from them — the transcript, the edit decisions, the draft.
- Your feedback. Struck and restored lines, notes, answers to questions, title and thumbnail picks, ratings and problem reports.
- Billing. Handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Usage. Which pages you opened and which actions you took, so we can tell what is broken.
How long we keep it
- Raw footage is deleted 30 days after a video is finished or published. You can set that to 24 hours or 7 days, and you can delete a video’s raw footage yourself at any time.
- Finished outputs and your channel profile are kept for the life of your account, and for 90 days after you close it.
- Invoices are kept as long as the law requires.
Who else touches it
We use a small number of suppliers to run the service — hosting, file storage, transcription, email delivery and payment processing. They process data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Other people in your video
A reaction video usually has more than one person in it. You are responsible for having the right to upload the footage you send us, including everyone who appears or speaks in it. If someone in your footage is a minor, you are responsible for their guardian’s consent.
What you can do
- Download everything we hold on you — profile, marks, storyboards and invoices.
- Correct anything that is wrong, from your settings.
- Delete your raw footage now, or close your account. Closing is final after 14 days.
- Disconnect YouTube at any time, which revokes our read access immediately.
Contact
Use the contact form and a person will answer — it reaches the same people an email would, and it does not depend on an inbox that does not exist yet. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
CutSmith runs this service and is responsible for the data described here. It is in beta and this policy will be reviewed by a lawyer before general release; until a contact address is published, the contact form is the way to reach us.
